Why I Got Drive Driving School?
I Got Drive Driving School is a state-licensed driving school that teaches the psychology of driving. Using a trauma-informed approach, we help new drivers manage the stress, distraction, and habits that lead to crashes, and we meet every student where they are.
A license is more than a card. In Baltimore, not having a car is tied to an $82,000 wage gap, and in Sandtown, 56.8% of households don't have a vehicle, compared with 6.8% in Roland Park. We close that gap with a full pathway: a driving school, a nonprofit foundation, and a Rent-to-Own app that helps drivers save toward a car of their own. License, to Car, to Career.
More than 100 aspiring drivers are on our waitlist right now, and mentors help us say yes to every one of them.
Mentoring the I Got Drive way
We teach the psychology of driving, and many of our students carry stress or past trauma. We meet each person where they are, with patience over pressure, respect for their goals, and the consistency that builds trust.
You don't need to be an expert. Every mentor meets with our team and completes an orientation before being matched.
